Selena Gomez had her first kiss on the set of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody with Dylan Sprouse. Yes, she had her first kiss with cameras pointed at her and Sprouse as they locked lips. Gomez told Kelly Clarkson about this big moment on her talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show.
The story came up because Gomez recently went back to her childhood home in Grand Prairie, Texas. Someone else lives there now, but Gomez told Clarkson, a fellow Texan, that the current resident opened the door, welcomed her in, and showed her a spot on the wall where she’d written that she was in love with Cole Sprouse. She told Clarkson that she had a giant crush on Cole, but when she guest-starred on Suite Life, she got to kiss his twin brother, Dylan, and not Cole.
“It was my first kiss,” she said. “That was one of the worst days of my life.”
“Your first kiss was with a stranger and an actor?,” Clarkson asked.
“On camera,” Gomez said, laughing.
“You know, mine wasn’t acting, and it wasn’t on camera, and it was horrible, Clarkson shared. “It was like he was searching for something with his tongue.”
Gomez seemed pretty horrified at Clarkson’s description, so maybe she’s thankful now that her first kiss was just a little moment captured on camera and nothing more.
The episode of Suite Life in which Gomez, Disney-kid star of The Wizards of Waverly Place, appeared was called “A Midsummer’s Nightmare,” and it’s in episode 22 of season 2, according to the trusty IMDB. In it, she plays a character called Gwen, who, yes, apparently kisses Dylan Sprouse’s character, Zach Martin.
And there you have it for today’s round of Selena Gomez trivia.
